Washington & Oregon
Merrill & Ring owns and manages highly productive timberland throughout Western Washington and Oregon. The Pysht Tree Farm, located on the North Olympic Peninsula and purchased in 1886, is the oldest tree farm in Washington State still operated by its original owners.
Our third generation crop will continue to produce a healthy mix of native species including Western Hemlock, Sitka Spruce, Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar and Red Alder.
Merrill & Ring owns and manages timberland in coastal British Columbia, centered on Vancouver Island and the Johnstone Strait region. Much of this property was acquired in the 1880’s and is now growing its third crop of trees.
Merrill & Ring’s Manuka Island plantation in the Wairau River Valley on the South Island was planted between 1994 and 1999. This plantation is being managed for long-term production of Radiata Pine and Douglas Fir.
In addition, Merrill & Ring operates a forestry services company in New Zealand. This knowledgeable team of local foresters manages Merrill & Ring’s New Zealand investment and offers timberlands management and other forestry services to other landowners in the region.
Forestry services include inventory & appraisal, resource consent processing, emissions trading scheme analysis, operations planning and supervision, timber sales and log marketing.
